CIBOSurg is a national multicenter project with the aim of introducing routine recording and discussion of intraoperative adverse events (iAEs) during the sign-out of the 'WHO Safe Surgery Checklist'. This project thus makes an important contribution to preventing avoidable errors, improving the flow of information during handovers and creating a shared awareness of the impact of perioperative incidents among all healthcare professionals.
